06/25/2024 “The [real] Walk”

Today was a testament to how flexible our group is. Especially our lead interns and advisors, being able to switch up on plans last minute is not easy but they were able to do so gracefully. Originally we were going to do the “The Walk” today which meant it was the time to share our deepest darkest secrets… kinda. But because Uncle AL couldn’t be there, we had to cancel and instead some of them went on an actual walk. I came in a little later, got Chick-fil-A, and joined my tier mates writing a letter to each other. We had pizza and lots of snacks and then met up later to cook dinner together. It's so cute how we are all realizing that it's almost time we graduate so we have spent more time together over the past few days than over the whole past month combined.

I got to help out with making the pasta and chicken with Reem and Hanna which was super fun. We made a lot of penne pasta, baked chicken, and a heated-up premade alfredo and red sauce. Reiley prepped the garlic cheesy bread and Ryan made some BOMB buffalo chicken pasta. We spent all afternoon together and finally got to play mafia, which is a yearly tradition. This was the loudest I’ve seen us get until we played among us and we got even louder. After dinner, Kasey said dessert was on her. She brings out her $16 Amazon chocolate and says it's the spiciest chocolate there is. We underestimated how much a tiny cube of chocolate can do. Seconds later we were gasping for air and crying from how spicy it was. Grant walks out and comes back with half a gallon of milk. I hated milk up but found myself downing half the jug. Although my stomach is still dealing with the consequences, this challenge taught me that I can do anything. Because in that moment I felt like there was no end to the suffering but moments later I was ready for another piece. So honestly for us, this experience was “The [real] Walk.”

See you tomorrow!!
